Role Summary

Account Consultant, Interventional Glaucoma – Memphis, TN. This field-based role involves promoting an AbbVie/Allergan product to meet or exceed sales goals in community/private practices, hospitals, and health systems. The position requires delivering expert anatomical/procedural information and training, identifying customer needs, and collaborating with account teams to support approved indications, education, and training programs. Travel is required to cover the territory and participate in training events and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a product to meet/exceed sales goals in community/private practices as well as hospitals/health systems.
  • Identify/uncover customer needs (training, clinical, operational, reimbursement) and address with appropriate AbbVie resources.
  • Provide expert delivery of anatomical/procedural information and training, including the use of anatomical terminology to train injection paradigms/postures while highlighting anatomical and injection insights and considerations.
  • Provide education and clinical/injection training for residents, fellows, and other key hospital personnel.
  • Collaborate with other Account Specialists to promote the product for approved indications and execute trainings within hospital/health system accounts.
  • Comply with all company policies, required reports, requests and promotional compliance and effectively manage AbbVie field assets.
  • Utilize AbbVie's sales and data resources to enhance productivity and growth of products while implementing the U.S. Marketing Plan.

Qualifications

  • Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience from five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field or equivalent industry experience; three (3) or more years of sales experience; documented history of strong sales performance in a clinical/technical/consultative sales role with multiple decision makers.
  • Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products in health systems and private practice preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
  • Ability to manage a complex sale, quickly learn procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information, and communicate/train to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to lift/pull 25-100 lb training models and meet hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements.
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings.
  • Must drive a personal auto or company vehicle or equivalent equipment.
  • Essential HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities within the assigned territory; responsible for satisfying all credentialing requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent industry experience acceptable in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with at least five (5) years of technical experience; three (3) or more years of sales experience preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight stays at training events and meetings.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; may include background checks, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses.
