Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access and fulfillment activities across nephrology healthcare provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers have information, tools, and resources to start and stay on therapy. Fosters compliant communications across Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, and Field Sales.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access & reimbursement team.
- Use KPIs and analytics to optimize field execution.
- Lead long- and short-term strategic planning and execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Create pull-through regional vision, team culture, and performance; build customer relationships.
- Manage performance and provide coaching/training while ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
- Identify and resolve access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Develop regional business plans to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership.
- Establish communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account teams.
- Spend time in the field and on virtual calls for coaching and issue resolution.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (or equivalent combination).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech or related experience; specialty pharmaceutical/nephrology/rare disease/REMS preferred.
- 5+ years specialty medicines access & reimbursement (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years first-line team leader with coaching and people development.

Preferred/Additional Skills:
- Experience leading training/access marketing/operations and managing access complexities for new-to-market medications.
- Relationship-building with HCPs, office staff, sales team, and hub counterparts.
- Deep understanding of commercial and government reimbursement (Medicare Part D, VA, etc.) and reimbursement education (benefit verifications, prior authorization, appeals/denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination).
- Computer skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint); ability to resolve issues virtually.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and multitasking.
- Field-based role: live within region/adjacent to major airport; valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
