Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access and fulfillment activities across nephrology healthcare provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers have the information, tools, and resources needed to start and stay on therapy, and fosters compliant cross-functional communications.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access/reimbursement team within local geography.
- Optimize field execution using KPIs/analytics.
- Develop long/short-term strategy and manage fast-paced execution.
- Build regional vision and team culture; motivate performance and achieve goals.
- Deliver coaching, manage performance, and ensure team compliance with regulations/internal policies.
- Address access/fulfillment obstacles using expertise in pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, and REMS.
- Create regional business plans to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Provide product access/reimbursement expertise and training to the team.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership.
- Create communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account team.
- Support development and issue resolution via field time and virtual calls.
- Cultivate key account relationships; train on coverage/criteria changes.
- Analyze regional performance and address ARM capability gaps.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (related field required).
- 10 years pharma/biotech or related experience; specialty/pharma, nephrology, rare disease, and REMS experience preferred.
- 5+ years in specialty medicines with deep access & reimbursement landscape knowledge (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years as a field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years as a first-line team leader with proven coaching/capability development.

Additional Skills/Experience:
- Cross-functional leadership/experience; manage access complexities for new-to-market meds.
- Relationship building with HCPs, office staff, sales, and hub counterparts.
- Knowledge of commercial and government reimbursement (Medicare Part D, VA, etc.) and reimbursement education (benefit verification, prior auth, appeals, denials, LOMN, pre-determination).
- Basic Excel/PowerPoint skills; ability to resolve issues virtually.
- Strong organization, multitasking, collaboration, attention to detail, and written/verbal communication.
- Field-based role; live within region/immediate adjacency to a major airport; valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
- Ability to perform face-to-face work and meet credentialing requirements.

Compensation:
- Target base pay range: $189,000.00 - $246,000.00.
