Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access & fulfillment activities across nephrology healthcare provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access & reimbursement team across local geography.
- Enable healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers with information/tools/resources to start and stay on therapy.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution.
- Develop long/short-term team strategy and manage execution of tactics in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive regional vision, team culture, performance, customer relationships, and team goals.
- Deliver performance management, coaching, training, and ensure compliance with regulations/internal policies.
- Identify and address access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Build and execute a regional business plan to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Provide product access/reimbursement expertise and training.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership.
- Create communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account team.
- Support issue resolution and coaching via field time and virtual calls.
- Build relationships with key accounts to support FILSPARI onboarding acceptance.
- Train on coverage/payer criteria changes; ensure pull-through access/fulfillment messages.
- Analyze regional performance; identify ARM capability gaps and partner to close gaps.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent education + experience).
- 10 years pharma/biotech or related experience; specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, REMS preferred.
- 5+ years in specialty medicines with deep access & reimbursement landscape knowledge (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager experience.
- 3+ years first-line team leader experience (coaching/capability/people development).

Additional Skills/Experience (Required/Preferred):
- Cross-functional experience leading training, access marketing/operations/payer projects.
- Experience managing access complexities for new-to-market medications; specialty pharmacy network experience.
- Relationship building with HCPs, office staff, sales, and hub counterparts.
- Understanding of commercial and government reimbursement (e.g., Medicare Part D, VA).
- Experience educating on reimbursement processes (benefit verification, prior auth, appeals/denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination).
- Computer skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to resolve issues/educate virtually; strong organization, collaboration, attention to detail, and verbal/written communication.
- Record of managing complex project plans/timelines/budgets.
- Adaptability to plan changes; field-based role requiring residence in/near the region with major airport access.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
- Ability to perform face-to-face work/onsite and meet credentialing requirements.
