Position Summary:
Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) for access and fulfillment activities across nephrology provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy. Ensures providers, patients, and caregivers have information/tools/resources to start and stay on therapy. Fosters compliant communications across Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, and Field Sales.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access & reimbursement team in local geography.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution.
- Develop long/short-term strategy and manage execution of tactics.
- Build pull-through region vision and culture; motivate performance; achieve goals.
- Deliver performance management and coaching; provide oversight/training for regulatory and internal policy compliance.
- Identify and address access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefits, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Develop regional business plan to optimize patient initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Provide product access/reimbursement expertise and training/direction to the team.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field sales and leadership; create communications cadence with ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, payer account team.
- Support field/vitrual issue resolution and coaching.
- Build relationships with key accounts for FILSPARI onboarding acceptance; train on payer coverage/criteria changes.
- Ensure pull-through key access/fulfillment messages in customer engagement.
- Analyze regional performance and close ARM capability gaps.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education + relevant experience).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech or related experience; specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, and REMS experience preferred.
- 5+ years specialty medicines access & reimbursement landscape (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager experience.
- 3+ years first-line team leader experience with coaching and people development.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Cross-functional experience leading training, access marketing, operations, and/or payer projects.
- Experience managing access complexities for new-to-market medications; specialty pharmacy products.
- Relationship-building with HCPs, office staff, sales team, and hub counterparts.
- Knowledge of commercial and government reimbursement (Medicare Part D, VA).
- Experience educating on reimbursement processes (benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals/denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination).
- Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint); strong virtual education/case management issue resolution.
- Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and multitasking skills.
- Record of complex project planning (timelines, budgets, critical paths); adaptability to change.

Additional Requirements:
- Field-based; live in/near assigned region with major airport access.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Travel up to 50% (predominantly within region).
- Ability to perform face-to-face work and meet ongoing credentialing requirements.
