Position: Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR)
Responsibilities:
- Lead/coaching team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) for access & fulfillment across nephrology HCP accounts; execute patient access field reimbursement strategy.
- Enable providers, patients, and caregivers with information/tools to start and stay on therapy.
- Use KPIs/analytics to optimize field execution; develop/execute long- and short-term strategic plans.
- Drive pull-through regional vision, culture, performance, and customer relationships.
- Manage performance/coaching; ensure team compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Address access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, REMS); create regional business plan to improve initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration (Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, Field Sales); maintain communication cadence across ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account team.
- Spend time in field/virtual calls for development and issue resolution; train on coverage changes/technical payer info.
- Analyze regional performance; identify ARM capability gaps; support improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required (or equivalent education/experience).
- 10+ years pharma/biotech (specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, REMS preferred).
- 5+ years specialty medicines access & reimbursement (HUBs, payers, specialty pharmacies).
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager.
- 3+ years first-line team leader (coaching/capability/people development).
Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of private/commercial and government reimbursement (e.g., Medicare Part D, VA); reimbursement process education (benefit verification, PA, appeals, denials, LOMN, pre-determination).
- Strong leadership, relationship-building (HCPs/office staff/sales/hub counterparts), cross-functional collaboration, communication, and computer skills (Excel/PowerPoint).
- Field-based within region near major airport; valid driverβs license, reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%; credentialing/face-to-face onsite work as required.
