Role Summary
As a Packaging Specialist on the 3rd shift in Allegan, you will operate on an assembly line packaging over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. You will follow written instructions and SOPs, perform in-process testing and inspections, and help ensure accurate GMP data and equipment cleanliness in a dynamic production environment. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed, and a focus on safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Follow written instructions contained in Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing orders, cleaning checklists and other controlled documents in accordance with cGMP regulations.
- Physically move bulk materials utilizing various forms of pallet jacks. Basic material handling and departmental utility tasks may also be assigned.
- Operate computer-controlled equipment utilizing a screen-based Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
- Execute in-process attribute testing and visual inspections.
- Evaluate test results against prescribed parameters to determine if tested product is within specification.
- Accurately, repeatedly, and contemporaneously document GMP data on equipment logs, batch records and cleaning checklists.
- Execute equipment and line cleaning tasks utilizing manual and automated processes and prescribed cleaning checklists.
- Perform minor equipment servicing activities including disassembly, reassembly, and setup.
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma (or GED).
- Required: Basic math and English communication skills, legible penmanship, and a high level of reading comprehension.
- Required: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Required: Working knowledge of computers.
- Required: Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
- Required: Available for training on various shifts.
- Required: Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Preferred: Excellent attendance record and work history.
- Preferred: Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of Direct Manufacturing Experience.
- Preferred: 1 to 2 years of General Manufacturing Experience.
- Preferred: 3 to 4 years of Non-Manufacturing Experience.
