Packaging Specialist (2nd Shift)
Position Responsibilities / What You Can Expect:
- Follow written instructions in Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing orders, cleaning checklists, and other controlled documents in accordance with cGMP regulations.
- Physically move bulk materials using pallet jacks; may perform basic material handling and departmental utility tasks.
- Operate computer-controlled equipment using a screen-based Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
- Execute in-process attribute testing and visual inspections.
- Evaluate test results against prescribed parameters to determine whether product is within specification.
- Accurately, repeatedly, and contemporaneously document GMP data on equipment logs, batch records, and cleaning checklists.
- Execute equipment and line cleaning tasks using manual/automated processes and prescribed cleaning checklists.
- Perform minor equipment servicing (disassembly, reassembly, and set-up).
Experience Required (training provided):
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic math and English communication skills; legible penmanship; strong reading comprehension.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- PPE provided if required (eye/hearing protection, half-face and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators, protective clothing, fall restraint harnesses).
- Ability to work 40 hours/week and available for overtime; available for training on various shifts.
- Consistently/frequently: vision, hearing, ability to read/write, interpret information, basic math, read/write in English.
- Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
Potential allergens handled: Omeprazole/Esomeprazole/Lansoprazole/Pantoprazole/Rabeprazole/Famotidine, Loratadine, Guaifenesin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Nicotine, Natural Flavorings.
Preferred:
- Excellent attendance and work history.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- 6 months–1 year direct manufacturing experience.
- 1–2 years general manufacturing experience.
- 3–4 years non-manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistently/frequently: stand/walk, lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, stoop/bend, squat, kneel, twist, grasp, move items/boxes, feel with hands/fingers.
- Occasionally: sit; lift 50 lbs.; pull/push with skid jacks (880 lbs.); reach and reach above shoulders/head.
- Rarely: lift above shoulders/head 25 lbs.
