Description Overview
- Entry-level Manufacturing Specialist position performing liquid and tablet mixing, tablet coating, tablet compression, or liquid dispensing of OTC pharmaceuticals. Requires safe work practices and following established safety protocols.
Position Responsibilities
- Follow SOPs, manufacturing orders, cleaning checklists, and controlled documents in accordance with cGMP.
- Operate computer-controlled equipment using a screen-based Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
- Operate instruments (calipers, balance scales, hardness testers).
- Handle in-process raw/intermediate materials (charge-in, mixing, transfer).
- Move bulk materials using power industrial equipment (drum dumpers, straddle stackers, pallet jacks, forklifts); may perform utility tasks.
- Perform in-process attribute testing and visual inspections.
- Evaluate test results vs. prescribed specifications.
- Document GMP data accurately on equipment logs, batch records, and cleaning checklists.
- Execute equipment/manufacturing suite cleaning (manual/automated) including confined space entry.
- Perform minor equipment servicing (disassembly, reassembly, set-up).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math and English communication; legible penmanship; strong reading comprehension.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Must work 40 hours/week; available for overtime; training on various shifts.
- Ability to read/write, interpret information, and perform basic math in English.
- Successful criminal background check and drug screen.
