Role Summary

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and upgrade of Perrigo’s utility systems across three buildings, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical panels, pumps, water systems, water treatment systems, piping, sprinklers, doors, heat exchangers, and related control systems. The role also includes providing water to manufacturing and performing general housekeeping tasks such as roof cleaning, replacing batteries, ceilings, bathroom clogs, painting, wall patching, and general carpentry.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operations and troubleshooting of Perrigo’s facilities systems in compliance with applicable codes, all state requirements and Perrigo SOPs. 30%
  • Performs utility systems rebuilding/install, upgrade and preventative maintenance. 30%
  • Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across all shifts in a team environment. 30%
  • Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned. 10%

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated cooperative work conduct and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Five plus years of solid work experience in a variety of maintenance skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. Or three (3) years as a Perrigo Set Up Tech plus at least two years of completed education in a related program from an accredited university/college.
  • Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) background desirable.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Suite and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP are required with the ability to navigate through computer-based training systems desirable.
  • Ability to read and work from Blueprints.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines through good attendance and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalency.

Additional Requirements

  • Works from ladders, man lifts, and requires ability to continuously lift 20 lbs and up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete floors for 8 hours up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 400 pounds utilizing a manual cart.
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, and bend.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and in high areas using proper procedures with ability to have sustained reach laterally and above shoulder height.
  • Must be able to frequently grasp objects, small hand tools, calipers, etc.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and audio acuity to work safely and accurately in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment to comply with hazardous procedures.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and required overtime through extended shifts and weekends.
  • Employees must pass scissor lift driving and fork truck driving test provided by Perrigo.
  • Employees must pass confined space training, fall arrest training provided by Perrigo.
  • Protective Equipment Requirement: Must be able to wear negative and/or positive pressure respirators daily for long periods of time. Must be medically cleared to wear respirators without restrictions.
  • Must be able to comply with locally required worker safety, environmental and health practices.
  • Required to follow and comply with Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Safety/Housekeeping guidelines.
  • Required to comply with hazardous procedures and be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
