Role: Oncology Discovery Co-op intern focusing on cancer research and drug discovery within Merck's Research and Development division. Responsibilities: develop and execute biochemical and cell-based assays to characterize therapeutic targets and molecules, including cancer cell culture, proliferation assays, genomic perturbation, and flow cytometry; analyze and interpret experimental data; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and genetics; communicate findings effectively. Requirements: enrolled in BS/BA in biological sciences or related field; full-time availability for up to 6 months starting early to mid-2027; experience with basic lab procedures (pipetting, solution prep, cell culture); strong data analysis skills; currently in a co-op program. Preferred: Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Sciences with combined wet-lab and computational experience; excellent communication skills; prior research experience. High-Value: cancer research, oncology drug discovery, biologics or small molecules, assay development, in vitro experiments, and collaboration across research functions. Work Setup: internship; no travel required; on-site; limited hazardous materials handling.
