Role: Chemistry, Materials & Life Sciences Intern supporting research and development at Alcon’s ophthalmic product divisions. Objectives: contribute to chemistry research, materials characterization, formulation development, analytical method development, and GMP pharmaceutical activities. Responsibilities: conduct laboratory experiments, design and synthesize polymers for contact lenses and lens-care products, develop analytical techniques, process ocular tissue samples, and support GMP manufacturing processes. Qualifications: enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s in chemistry, polymer/materials science, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or pharmaceutical science; minimum GPA 2.8; demonstrated leadership; eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; commit to a 10–12-week, full-time summer internship. Preferred: background in ophthalmic materials, clinical manufacturing, or analytical assay development; experience with GMP or regulatory environments.
