      Role Summary
 2026 Validation Engineering Co-Op (Jan - Jun) — An opportunity to gain hands-on experience in validation engineering within AbbVie's QA Validation department, supporting plant validation activities across manufacturing and QC in a pharmaceutical environment.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Execute tasks as required to implement the Validation Master Plan
 
 - Collaborate with external engineering and QC departments on new installations, system modifications, and decommissioning
 
 - Draft and execute validation plans and validation protocols in compliance with cGMP practices
 
 - Ensure investigations of validation failures are completed thoroughly and documented accurately
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Required: Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in engineering or other related field
 
 - Required: Must be enrolled in school at the time of the Co-Op
 
 - Required: Must be able to commit to a 6-month program at AbbVie Bioresearch Center (ABC) in Worcester, MA (January – June)
 
 - Required: Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2028
 
 - Preferred: Major in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering a plus
 
 - Preferred: Organization, attention to detail, communication, self-starter, ability to ask questions, time management, etc.
 
 - Preferred: Equipment-based or instrumentation / installation project exposure a plus
 
 - Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint

 Education
 
 - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (in progress)
