Role Summary

Community Engagement Intern supporting Takeda’s U.S. CSR & Philanthropy and Public Affairs teams with volunteerism, philanthropic initiatives, and internal communications to connect employees with community programs. Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate social responsibility and exposure to related areas within Takeda’s U.S. Public Affairs organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support volunteerism efforts through project coordination, employee communications, and logistical planning for on-site and off-site activities.
  • Develop internal and external communications to promote employee engagement and philanthropic initiatives across multiple channels.
  • Administer the volunteerism and giving platform to manage matching gifts, volunteer time submissions, and project registrations, and track participation metrics.
  • Attend meetings with nonprofit partners to observe program updates and learn about community impact.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and events.
  • Lead or assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Hybrid position based at Takeda's Cambridge, MA location (Kendall Square).
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CSR, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or related social sciences.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and deadline-driven skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress in relevant field (as specified above).

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Enrollment in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later.
  • Internship is 10–12 weeks with two possible start dates; commitment to one of the time frames and full-time hours (40/week).
  • No housing stipend or relocation support provided.
