Role Summary

2026 Procurement Intern (Enterprise Functions & Categories) at AbbVie. A paid, ten-to-twelve-week summer program within the Enterprise Functions & Categories (EFC) Procurement team, offering exposure to procurement processes, digital and analytical tools, business strategies, and sustainability practices. Focus areas may include IT, Meetings & Events, Facilities, or People & Benefits, contributing to strategic initiatives within AbbVie.

Responsibilities

  • Learn procurement fundamentals: sourcing basics, supplier management, category management, and industry-specific regulations within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Develop digital and analytical skills: proficiency in procurement tools, analyzing spend data and market trends, and exploring AI-driven innovations transforming procurement strategies.
  • Enhance business and financial acumen: conduct cost-benefit analysis and understand AbbVie’s financial cycles and procurement impacts.
  • Improve communication and relationship management: collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and develop negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
  • Focus on innovation and sustainability: propose process improvements using AI and automation, solve problems creatively, and contribute to sustainable procurement and ESG initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related major.
    • Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g., extracurricular activities or projects).
    • Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with an interest in procurement strategies.
    • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills.
