Role Summary

2026 Procurement Intern (Commercial & Aesthetics) at AbbVie. A paid, ten-to-twelve-week summer program offering exposure to procurement processes, digital tools, business strategies, and sustainability practices. Focus areas include Advertising and Communications, Market Research & Data Analytics, and Patient Support Services within the Commercial & Allergan Aesthetics Procurement Team.

Responsibilities

  • Learn procurement fundamentals including sourcing basics, supplier management, category management, and industry-specific regulations within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Develop digital and analytical skills by using procurement tools, analyzing spend data and market trends, and exploring AI-driven innovations in procurement strategies.
  • Enhance business and financial acumen through cost-benefit analysis and understanding AbbVie’s financial cycles and procurement impacts.
  • Improve communication and relationship management by collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and developing foundational negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
  • Focus on innovation and sustainability by proposing process improvements using AI and automation and contributing to Procurement-focused Environmental, Sustainability and Governance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled in university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related major.
    • Enrolled in university the semester following the internship
    • Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g., extracurricular activities or projects)
    • Experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
    • Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with an interest in procurement strategies
    • Problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
    • Interpersonal, leadership and project management abilities
    • Teamwork, eagerness to learn, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
