      Role Summary
The 2026 Operations Extern provides a two-day immersive externship experience designed for second-year undergraduate students to explore AbbVie’s operations within a pipeline to the Operations Development Program Internship. The program offers exposure to multiple operations functional areas and advancement opportunities upon graduation.
 Responsibilities
- Participate in an on-site externship experience at AbbVie’s headquarters to gain hands-on exposure across operations.
 - Engage in activities across multiple functional areas such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Development, Science & Technology.
 - Build networks with AbbVie representatives, senior leaders, and fellow students.
 - Participate in cross-functional professional development opportunities.
 - Learn about AbbVie’s career opportunities and be considered for future internships.
 - Support the talent pipeline for the Operations Development Program Internship; high-potential externs may be considered for the full-time program upon graduation.
 
 Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
 - Willing and able to undertake an internship between junior and senior year.
 - Interest and ability to relocate for an 11-week on-site internship in Branchburg, NJ, Irvine, CA, Lake County, IL, Waco, TX, or Worcester, MA; placement may occur at other U.S. AbbVie or Allergan Aesthetics locations.

 Education
- Bachelor’s degree-related field in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or analytical chemistry (expected graduation 2027–2028).
 
 Additional Requirements
- Mobility is a key component of the internship pipeline to the full-time Operations Development Program, with rotations across U.S. operation sites based on business needs.
