2026 Operations Extern

Role Summary

The AbbVie EXCEL Externship in Operations is a two-day immersive program for second-year undergraduate students exploring future internships with AbbVie. Participants will spend time at AbbVie's Headquarters in Lake County, IL during August 2026, gaining exposure to a variety of key business areas and building networks with AbbVie representatives and senior leaders. The externship serves as a pipeline for future internships and potential full-time opportunities within AbbVie's Operations Development Program.

Responsibilities

• Get immersed in AbbVie's culture
• Gain hands-on experience in a variety of key business areas
• Build an extended network of AbbVie representatives, senior leaders, and students from across the country
• Participate in cross-functional professional development opportunities
• Learn more about AbbVie's career opportunities
• Be considered for an internship for the following summer

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field with an expected graduation date between December 2027 - June 2028.
• Willing and able to do an internship between Junior and Senior year
• Interest and ability to relocate for AbbVie’s 11-week on-site internship in Branchburg, NJ, Irvine, CA, Lake County, IL, Waco, TX, or Worcester, MA; though there is a possibility of being placed within any U.S. AbbVie or Allergan Aesthetics location.

Additional Requirements

• Mobility is a key component as a pipeline internship to the full-time Operations Development Program. Full-time Members will rotate to different sites based on business needs.
