Work assignment will be project related at the West Point site with a deliverable in mind.
Responsibilities:
- Work with PA GWES teams (Facilities Management, Utility Energy Operation, Maintenance & Engineering, Project Delivery, Process Excellence & Strategy Operations) to gain hands-on experience via maintenance activities, operational data trending, daily/weekly planning meetings, and capital project support from concept through execution planning.
- Partner to create visual dashboards to track priorities and KPIs.
- Support the Gemba (Go-See) program, including safety walkdowns.
- Develop digital tools to implement automation to accelerate information flow across data systems and implement technologies to simplify processes.
- Attend portfolio meetings; review facility-related projects; schedule deliverables; monitor projects and report status (spend to date, forecast).
Primary Activities:
- Maintain organizational, communication, and planning skills.
- Stay current on developments and recommend improvements to service, operations, reliability, efficiency, and applications.
- Learn and follow Safety, Health, Environmental, GMP, and regulatory requirements (as required).
- Perform duties with minimum supervision and independent judgment.
- Complete administrative tasks to maintain records and reports.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelorβs program in Engineering or related field.
- Majors sought: Business & Engineering, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Bio-Med Engineering.
- Experience level: Beginner (first co-op), Intermediate (second co-op/related or volunteer), or Advanced (final co-op/related work).
- Available for 6 months; flexible hours; undergo federal background checks for access to classified systems.
- Preferred: Minimum GPA 3.00.
