Role Summary

2026 Finance Extern

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the AbbVie EXCEL Externship in Finance, a two-day, unpaid immersive experience designed as a key talent pipeline for the Finance Internship Program.
  • Engage in hands-on exposure to various finance sub-function areas including Financial Analysis, Budgets, Plans and Forecasts, Reporting & Controls, and Manufacturing Operations Accounting.
  • Immerse in AbbVieโ€šร„รดs culture, build networks with AbbVie representatives and senior leaders, and participate in cross-functional professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to meaningful assignments with potential impact on the business and patients worldwide through exposure to real-world finance challenges.
  • Be considered for internship opportunities in Finance for the following summer.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelorโ€šร„รดs degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 โ€šร„รฌ June 2028.
  • Majoring in or strongly interested in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Demonstrated use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic or professional settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progress toward completing at least three accounting courses (each 3 credit hours) by graduation, including cost or managerial accounting.
  • Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus.
  • Interest or exposure in data visualization tools and presenting data meaningfully.
  • Interest or exposure in data analysis, robust analytics, and predictive modeling.
  • Enrollment in or completion of an Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability, collaborative teamwork, adaptability, proactivity, and high ethical standards.
  • Previous internship or related experience.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
