Role Summary
Based at Plant 7, the Production Area Lead will lead frontline teams and prioritize their people. This role embodies a People First, Always mindset and a Front-Line Obsession approach to enable the team to achieve operational goals. You will coach, develop, and advocate for the front line, build strong relationships across Perrigo, and champion a safe, inclusive environment while driving continuous improvement and adherence to Perrigo policies and cGMP standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily handoffs, daily stretches, and ensure daily housekeeping and safety activities are completed.
- Assist Set-up Technicians during changeovers and troubleshoot machinery as needed.
- Ensure SOP and cGMP compliance, training, and provide direction to employees to resolve production problems.
- Collaborate with Quality, Validation, Maintenance, and other support functions.
- Participate in initiatives related to quality, safety, productivity, cost, OEE, and on-time delivery.
- Oversee the daily organization of the production process, including tracking efficiency and aligning break times and run times.
- Foster an environment where continuous improvement can thrive.
Qualifications
- Basic math and reading/comprehension skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft and SAP; basic computer skills; ability to navigate computer-based training systems.
- Candidates must possess an excellent attendance and work record.
- Candidates have demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills and good communication skills.
- A strong ability to problem solve, multitask and motivate with minimal supervision. Other skills include multitasking, record keeping, using tools, and encouraging change; trainer certification may be required in some areas.
- Previous production knowledge and training experience preferred.

Additional Requirements
- Physical demands: Must be able to stand for long shifts with breaks every 2 hours (about 85% of the shift); lift 10 lbs continuously, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally; ascend/descend stairs up to 7 steps; push/pull handcarts, skids, and drums up to 220 lbs; stoop or bend to adjust machines and clean the work area; reach laterally and overhead occasionally; grasp, move and adjust objects; work a minimum of 40 hours per week; see, hear and understand signs, labels, and instructions; work at each packaging station and maintain the pace.
